VoIP.ms Setup Guide

Note: If you are using a newly added phone number or carrier account or have had messaging stop working unexpectedly, please make sure you have completed your carrier's 10DLC registration process before attempting to utilize Textable. 10DLC registration is required by ALL supported carriers due to the requirements set by the wireless carriers.

Configuring your VoIP.ms account with Textable is pretty simple and should only take a few minutes.

  1. First, you should login to your console at https://voip.ms/
  2. Once logged in, go to the SOAP and REST / JSON API page at https://voip.ms/m/api.php
  3. Here, you will need to set your API Password and Enable API. You will also need to disable the IP Whitelist by entering in 0.0.0.0 and clicking “Save IP Addresses”
  4. We must now configure the inbound webhooks for incoming messages.
    1. Go to the Manage DID Numbers section in VoIPms (https://voip.ms/m/managedid.php)
    2. Select the pencil icon to edit the phone number that you would like to use with Textable.
    3. Under the Short Message Service section, check the “SMS URL Callback” box.
    4. Set the value of the input to https://inbound.textable.app/receive?provider=voipms&to={TO}&from={FROM}&msg={MESSAGE}&media={MEDIA}

      Note: If you are a private label customer, please replace “https://inbound.textable.app” with your private label hostname (e.g. “https://privatelabel-txb.textable.app/receive?provider=voipms”. You should have received this value in your onboarding e-mail, but can also be requested by e-mailing support@textable.co.
      1. You can optionally select the URL Retry option. This will do a continuous retry if the message failed to hit our servers properly. This may result in duplicate inbound messages from time to time.
    5. Click “Click here to apply changes”
  5. On Textable, set API Username field to the e-mail address that you login to VoIP.ms with.
  6. Set API Password to the API Password that you set above in your VoIP.ms profile.
  7. Click “Update Profile Details” button.

That’s it, you should be able to send and receive messages!
